"You've Got To Stop And Smell The Roses": Family Fun in St.George
We recently went to St. George to be with Grandma Ames and T.T. and Anthony's family. T.T. was going to the temple for the first time and cousin Rudy was receiving the Aaronic Priesthood. We had a great time helping Grandma around her place and being their with the family.

Dear Neighbor....
Dear Neighbor,
We, the chickens of 7672 ½ Tumblegg Dr., would like to introduce ourselves to you, one of our favorite neighbors. We live directly through the fence from you. You might have heard us making some noise every once in awhile, and hopefully it has not alarmed you in any way. We do get excited when we are about to or have laid one of these beautiful eggs. We like to announce it, so we apologize if we all of a sudden we let out some noises that you are not used to. We are just a bunch of ladies so you won’t hear any “cock a doodle doo’s”, unless of course we are trying to imitate those things they call roosters.
We are attempting to be good neighbors. We don’t like to smell, we love to eat bugs and spiders, and we promise to go to bed just as the sun is about to go down. We don’t like to stay up late and we don’t play loud music, or do anything crazy, as we tend to mind our own business.
You are welcome to come visit once in awhile. We love swiss chard and other green, leafy vegetable scraps. We even like cheese!
Thanks for welcoming us to the neighborhood. Enjoy these eggs.
Sincerely,
Licorice, Mrs. T., B.B., Caramel, Toffie, Snickers, Butterscotch, Ruby, & Sam

Elder Ames Building A Treehouse in Middletown NY
This great email and pictures came to us today from a sweet lady in Middletown NY: I am a member of the Middletown NY ward. I have had the wonderful opportunity to get aquainted with your son. He is such a sweet and caring person. He has been helping us build our treehouse for our kids. It is such a well built treehouse, I think I will actually have to move into it! We love it and he has just been the greatest help. He has such a strong spirit and has become a wonderful leader to the other missionaries. They really look up to him and he leads with such a sweet and loving spirit. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet and work with Elder Ames. I took some pictures of him and the other elders. I hope you enjoy these and thank you for raising such a wonderful son. You would be very proud of the work that he has done here in the Middletown area. We just love him!

A Great Weekend in St. George
Today we had the opportunity to be with my sister as she went to the temple for the first time in the beautiful St. George Utah temple. What a great experience. Jim, Holli, McKelle, Mom, Leisa and I were there and really it was a very nice day. Tomorrow, her son Rudy, is receiving the Aaronic Priesthood, so we will have the opportunity to participate in that as well. Rudy is a great young man.
Jim and I spent time at Mom's house today doing some tasks she needed done. We built new nest boxes for her chicken coop and redid the roost. It was great to work with Jim. He is a handy brother to have.

Quote I Like
Orson F. Whitney: "No pain that we suffer, no trial that we experience is wasted. It ministers to our education, to the development of such qualities as patience, faith, fortitude & humility. All that we suffer & all that we endure, especially when we endure it patiently, builds up our characters, purifies our hearts, expands our souls, & makes us more tender & charitable, more worthy to be called the children of God..& it is through sorrow & suffering, toil & tribulation that we gain the education that we came here to acquire and which will make us more like our Heavenly Father & Mother in Heaven" (in Spencer W. Kimball's, Faith Precedes the Miracle)
